Shaykh Abu Bakr Ahmad Malibari's Cairo Sufism Conference talk:2011
Extracts:

Quote

In the name of Allah,Most High. "All praise is due to Allah……Blessings upon Rasulullah(s) and upon his family
and his companions. Sufism is the basic way to reform the persons and society. It make us wondering, in this modern age , we hear some people denying the Sufism and insulting Sufis and some Ulama, saying ‘this is Sufi... This is sufi ….’& they are wrong , wallah, we can’t understand why they do this denial. If there are many pseudo-sufis here, like that, there was Musailimh Al Kazzab who argued prophecy but was not real prophet . Can we deny our
prophet (saws) for that? Like that there are originals and duplicates in everything. We take original and leave duplicates .Like that the tasawwuf which we are talking on, is a great way which Awliya
kiram has taken. Once Imam abul Qasim al Junaid(qs) was asked about Tasawwuf. He answered; it is the purification of heart from all vices &likewise all sufi ulama described .The Tasawuf that we follow is that which Rasulullah had taught us .In his SAYINGS, it is ‘Ihsan’,ie to worship Allah as if you see him, You don’t see Him but H watches you. So, the purification of Heart from all bad characters such as shirk & Kibr is Tasawwuf.

That is what Allah says:“ Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.”
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) prayed that : “Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise” .Because the main aim in sending prophets is purification of heart purifying people from bad characters. Allah mentioned this in many places in Qur’an. This was what mentioned our prophet PBUH in
his saying.
My dear brothers and respected Ulama, so that we have to swift out the Real from Fake. We will not take the Tariqah which is in conflict with Shari’ah. See the words of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani (Q.S) in his book ‘ Futuh Al Gaib’. “The first thing to be followed by all Mu’min is to follow the orders and to avoid the
prohibitions and be satisfied on Allah’s Qadah(Fate)” .Shaikh Abdul Qadir al Jilani also says that following the orders and avoiding the prohibitions is the condition of Tariqah .

Shaikh Zain ud din Maqdum (rah) of Malabar says in his book ‘Adhkiya Ila Triqil Awliya’ that, the tariqah of all masters are conditioned on the Holy book and Hadith. So the Tariqah which is in agreement with Qur’an and Sunnah ,ie with shariah of Prophet(s) is the real Tariqah. That is the Tasawwuf, which will lead to His way. If anybody argues tasawwuf and tariqah which is not in favour with Shari’ah and allows wine and other forbidden things, we will not consider it as tasawwuf. W only follow the tasawwuf which was mentioned by prophet(s).As for the word Tasawwuf, it came later, as many such words ,but it was basically taken from Qur’an and Sunnah. The real Sufi , I will not say Islamic Sufi, because the real Sufi is Islamic Sufi , is He, who follows the Way of Muhammad(s). He follows the order of Allah and avoid what He prohibited and ONE who purified the heart . Rather, No stain has covered their hearts with bad things, and it changed them altogether. We have to change that way, may Allah help us “.

ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN KERALA:A MODEL FOR THE WORLD MUSLIMS:
THE MADRASAS
Posted Image

The entire credit of any progress in religious education of Kerala Muslims compared to other states of India is entitled to the novel idea of Madrasa run by All Kerala Muslim Educational Board (Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board). A fully systematic style and a constructive method of education was followed and strictly practiced by the Board and the result was a giant leap in the field. The run-up to the formation of the board started when Marhoom Sayyed Abdur Rahman Bafaqi Tangal drew the attention of the ulama in 1945, at the 16th conference of Samastha held at Karyavattam, to the urgent need of the organisation to take up a leading and active role in setting up Madrasas across the state. He suggested Samastha leaders to prepare a syllabus for primary religious education to be taught in One to Ten classes of Madrasa along with regular schooling. Later Mushawara meets and Ulama gatherings all seriously discussed Bafaqi Tangal’s suggestion. Finally, the 19th Samastha Conference held in March 1951 at Badagara, passed the historic resolution forming the educational board to meet the urgent need for a centralised Madrasa system.

Marhoom Paravanna KPA Muhyiddin Kutty Moulavi was the founding chairman of the board. Six months later on September 17, 1951, at an important meeting at Valakkulam Puthupparamba Juma Masjid in the patronage of Moulana Abul Haqq Abdul Bari Musliyar Al-Baqawi (1981-1965) a 33-member first working committee of the SKIVB was constituted being Paravanna K.P.A. Muhyuddeen Kutty Musliyar the president and K.P. Usman Sahib the general secretary. In March 1952, the board called for application for Madrasa recognition, and the board working committee held on August 26, 1952 recognised first 10 Madrasas. The number of recognised Madrasas has been on an amazing increase since then. The Executive Council of the board meets second Saturday of every month and reviews the applications of Madrasa for recognition among others. The numbers given below will help understand the progress of the unique Madrasa System set up by Samastha for primary religious education; 1956 (149), 1961 (746), 1966 (1838), 1971 (2694), 1976 (3586), 1986 (5648), 1991 (6440), 1996 (7003), 2001 (7865), 11/09/2006 (8491). All the Madrasas have classes at least until fifth standard. Many Madrasas have classes up to 7th, 10th and even +1 and +2 classes.

The board has spread the message of its model Madrasas to states and nations like Andaman Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Lakshadeep, Maharashtra, Malaysia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman. It conducts systematic training classes, Hizb, Lower, Higher and Secondary examinations to make the teachers more capable and well equipped. There are Inspectors named as Mufatish to visit each and every Madrasa, they examine the standard of education check up the physical condition and atmosphere of Madrasa, give necessary recommendations to teachers and Madrasa managing committee and report the functioning of each Madrasa to the board. There are 86 inspectors, seven tutors to train the teachers, and six Qura’n reciters to conduct Hizb classes. There is also an association of Madrasa inspectors named Samastha Kerala Jam’eyyat ul-Mufathisheen. The board directly hold centralised Public Examinations in the 5th, 7th, and 10th classes. It has so far issued 2,039,021 fifth class certificates, while the number is 603,524 in 7th and 45,994 in 10th.

WITNESS OF MOON SPLITTING (A MIRACLE OF PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH): CHAKRAWATI FARMAS KING OF MALABAR, INDIA

The incident relating to King Chakrawati Farmas is documented in an old manuscript in the India Office Library, London, which has reference number: Arabic, 2807, 152-173. It was quoted in the book "Muhammad Rasulullah," by M. Hamidullah:

"There is a very old tradition in Malabar, South-West Coast of India, that Chakrawati Farmas, one of their kings, had observed the splitting of the moon, the celebrated miracle of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) at Mecca, and learning on inquiry that there was a prediction of the coming of a Messanger of God from Arabia (Detail given below), he appointed his son as regent and set out to meet him. He embraced Islam at the hand of the Prophet, and when returning home, at the direction of the Prophet, died at the port of Zafar, Yemen, where the tomb of the "Indian king" was piously visited for many centuries."

The old manuscript in the 'India Office Library' contains several other details about King Chakrawati Farmas and his travel.

The king spent weeks in seclusion. In the midst of his quiet life, he set out on the journey along with the Arab travelers who'd promised him earlier. On the way, they stopped by Koylandi and from there to Dharmapatnam where they halted for 3 days. Then they set out to Shehr Muqalla. On reaching there, they set for the Hajj pilgrimage and thereafter returned to Malabar. He aspired to spread the message of Islam. But on the way, he fell sick and breathed his last.
A tradition of the Holy Prophet has also been reported from one of the companions, Abu Saeed al Kaudri, regarding the arrival of Cheraman Perumel. "A king from India presented the Messenger of Allah with a bottle of pickle that had ginger in it. The Holy Prophet distributed it among his companions. I also received a piece to eat ". (Hakim reports in 'Al Musthadrak)

SYEDNA HAZRAT TAMEEM BIN AHMED ANSARI RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU ,KOVALAM SHARIEF,KOVALAM DARGAH. (Chennai)[Tamil Nadu,India] : Neighbourhood of Malabar

The Dargah is located in Kovalam shareef, near Mamallapuram, about 30 km from Chennai. SYEDNA HAZRAT TAMEEM BIN AHMED ANSARI RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU was born in Al-Madina Al-Munawara and joined in Islam in Al Makkah Al Mukarrama before the Hijrath of Huzoor-e-Kareem Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam. He belonged to the tribe of Al-Kajraj and his father was Yu-Aar. He is one among 313 Sahabas who participated in Jank-e-Badr (Badr War). He stayed in the world of Jinns (A'lam-ul-Jinn) to teach Jinns about Islam for five years, which was commanded by Huzoor-e-Kareem Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Before his visit to A'lam-ul-Jinn, he was gifted with a holy ring which was bearing "Asma-ul-Zalzalooth" by Huzoor-e-Kareem Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam and was said that it would be on his holy finger till the day of Qayamath, when he meets Huzoor-e-Kareem Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam in Mahshar Maidhan. He visited Asia continent during the time of Khilafath of Ameer-ul-M'umineen, Hazrath Umar Farook (RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU .The kingdom of Sindh was under the holy feet of SYEDNA HAZRAT TAMEEM BIN AHMED ANSARI RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU for 18 years. Before his Pardha (Wisal), he had instructed his disciples to cast his Janazah Mubarak (remains) into the sea after his death. After the last instructions from SYEDNA HAZRAT TAMEEM BIN AHMED ANSARI RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU as stated above, his companions or disciples did the same and it is said that the Janazah Mubarak was in the sea for about 5 years and it was guarded by the big fishes during this time. Eventually, one big fish brought the Janazah Mubarak nearer to sea shore of Kovalam.
On the other hand, according to some accounts, the Nawab of Wallajah, Nawab Muhammed Saadatullah Khan, had a dream in which SYEDNA HAZRAT TAMEEM BIN AHMED ANSARI RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU requested him to proceed to Kovalam, where he would find the latter's Janazah Mubarak on Kovalam beach, and asked him to bury it there. When the Nawab reached the beach, he found the Janazah Mubarak and when he opened the same, he found the sacred body fresh along with some documents, which proved that he was Sahabi-e-Rasool Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam.
The Nooraniyyath reflected from the sacred face of SYEDNA HAZRAT TAMEEM BIN AHMED ANSARI RAZI ALLAHU THALA ANHU touched the hearts of the all who participated in the funeral cermony. The Nawab duly buried the sacred body of THE Great Sahabi-e-Rasool Sallalahu Alaihi wa Sallam and built the Dargah Shareef at the site.

Assalamu alaikum

There is one person invloved in writing works on Mustalah al-Hadith in arabic by the name of Dr Hamza Malibari. I would be gratetful if you have any background info on this writer as i get the impression that he is a "Salafi".

Wassalam

Wa alaikumaSalam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.
Dear Sidi, though the links such as:
ON BIO:
http://www.ahlalhdee...177&postcount=2
ON HIS WORK:
http://read.kitabkla...-al-hadits.html
would be enough to arrive at a conclusion from these internal evidences, as his study from Salafi teachers, after leaving Malaibar in his early 30s . I only wish to explain his initial sunni background , as our ulema has not definitely said anything against him publicly which may be because he has not yet come as a threat and he is living abroad in Kuwait.
As regards to his Malaibari life, he has completed the Dars-e Nizami syllabus of 8 years of preliminary studies as a Mut'allim in learning centers attached to village and town masajids(there are thousands of them in Malaibar) called 'Dars', as per traditional Islam only[Shafii,Ash'ari and with tasawwuf] and then wet to take degree from one of the prestigious Arabic Colleges of Ahle Sunnah in South India, namely 'AL BAQIYATHU SALIHAT' ,of Vellore,Tamil Nadu , which was founded by Shamsul Ulema A'ALA HAZRAT Abdul Wahab velori.QS, the Madrasa which has Great Blessings and had produced thousands of eminent Scholars and Awliya, including the present leaders of our ulema organization called 'Samasta'.The rest of his life is in the link.

If I get anything new Insha' Allah ,I will inform you. Salam.

Assalamu alaikumn

Barakallahu feek for the reply and information.

Dear Sidi,here is another info:
S T É P H A N E L A C R O I X wrote, in his article, Al-Albani’s Revolutionary Approach to Hadith

In the 1990s, a few students of al-Albani would go so far as to challenge both the
Wahhabi religious aristocracy and al-Albani himself. Following the teachings of an Indian
shaykh called Hamza al-Malibari
,
they would promote the centrality of hadith, while
criticizing al-Albani for relying, in his critique of hadith, on the methods used by late traditionists—
at least so they claimed. On the contrary, they would pride themselves for relying
exclusively on the methodology of the early traditionists (that is those anterior to
al-Dar Qutni (917-995)) and would therefore name their approach manhaj al-mutaqaddimin
(the methodology of the early ones).
[The book is called Al-muwāzana bayna almutaqaddimīn wa-l-muta’akhkhirīn fī tashīh al-ahādīth wa-ta‘līlihā
[The balance betweenthe early ones and the late ones regarding the identification of authentic and weak
hadiths]
Salam.

Model of India's biggest mosque unveiled
Kozhikode (Kerala), Jan 30, (IANS):

The model of what is billed as India's biggest mosque -- accommodating 25,000 in its courtyard -- was unveiled here Monday.

The mosque is to come up in a 40 acres near here and the complex will also house a heritage museum, convention halls, and a media centre, according to the Jamia Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya headed by Muslim scholar Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobaker Musliyar, who unveiled the model here.

"The heritage museum is for the protection and exhibition of all such holy remnants of prophets and men of Islamic importance, and this will surely add a new dimension to the cultural life of Kerala," said Musliyar.

Speaking to IANS, an official of the Markaz said that the work on the mosque is expected to begin in April and would be completed in 18 months time.

"The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs.40 crore and will come through public contributions. The feature of the mosque is that initially it would be an open one and would more or less resemble the famed Jama Masjid in Delhi," said the official who did not wish to be identified.

Musliyar heads the popular social, charity and educational organisation based here, which has taught more than 30,000 students from various states in the country in the last three decades.

Three years back, the Markaz was in the news when more than 100 children from Kashmir were brought here for basic education.

Delhi's Jama Masjid is currently India's biggest mosque.
