Does anyone have indepth information on the name of Allah(t) from classical muslims scholars or otherwise ? Info useful for comparitive religion ? I have read Ahmed Deedats work. Im looking for more indepth understanding.

- Is Allah(t) a name or does it just mean "God" in arabic, as some say ?

- What is the meaning of Allah ?

- Is the name Allah different from the other names of Allah that we know ?

- Does the name Allah differ when language differs ?

- The jews, chrsitian and pagans of arabia did not dispute on the usage of the Allah as the name of the Lord of the Worlds. Does this mean they were taught the same name and they diverged later? or is it because it was agreed upon in the arabic language ?
