Salam,
Can someone please explain how to pronounce the shahada in Arabic correctly or is there is a difference of opinion among the scholars?
Is it ashadu al-la ilaha ill'Allah etc. or is it ashadu an la ilaha ill'Allah etc.
Do you apply the rules of tajwid pronouncing the shahada, applying the hukm idghaam bi ghayri ghoennah here or do you pronounce the nun?
Your help please! If possible with reference.
Jazzak Allah,
H.

wa'alaykumussalaam,
This is mentioned in Bushraa al-Kareem, which is an explanation of al-Muqaddimah al-Hadramiyyah.
Specifically, it says that the mu'tamad of the school is that the Salat is invalid if you do not make idgham of the noon into the laam (ie. an laa ilaaha illallah --> al laa ilaaha illallah), as well as all other instances of idghaam.
It also mentions that ibn al-Qaasim held the opinion that it does NOT invalidate the prayer.
This discussion takes place in bab Sifat us-Salaat, during the explanation of the tashahhud al-Akheer being the 10th rukn of the Salat. In my copy, it's on page 211.
