Unfortunately there does not seem to be an online version of the work.
Sayyid Malikis commentary was scribed in the Masjid al-Haram back in the late 1970's when the Sayyid still taught there, the scribe being an Indonesian scholar names Kiya Ihya Ulum al-Din (interesting name).
Inshallah I should know today or tomorrow from previously interested people regarding the work.
As for other works:
-Perhaps Sh al-Khadims commentary on 'Maharim al-Lisan' would be a good work which can be studied in circles and masajid. Its an easy to follow explanation of a poem regarding the sins of the tongue.
-Mukhtasar Riyadh al-Salihin of Nabhani with added commentary from some available works: Can be used as a manual to read from at gatherings. Nuzhat al-Muttaqin has fawaid of each hadith as bullet points
Also please refer to my previous message with ideas

I don't really see how I can help bro! I would love to see the book published but I am not someone who publishes books. Sunnipublications seem to have their hands full as well........

An update to what was mentioned in this thread, the following works have since been published:
The Bidayat al-Sul of Ibn Abd al-Salam with notes
The Arbaeen of Shah Waliullah al-Dehlawi
The Wasiyyah of Ibn Qudamah
I believe the Bidayat has already been incorporated into lessons in study circles Mash-Allah

1. Most Muslims do not read
2. Those who do read do not usually go for the more academic and challenging books (e.g. Aqida)
3. The fancier the cover the better chance the book has of selling (lesson: its better to spend good money on a fancy cover because it will sell a book better than any review)
4. The earth tone colors, while nice, are not the way to go. I passed by Sh Gibril's translation of the Ibn Jahbal book because it was too earth tone and the title didn't stand out
5. Anything from the well-known and renowned scholars should be a good sell if properly done (e.g. anything from al-Ghazali)
6. Most Muslims don't read
